Cheekies with First Matie

Off to the gym this morning for a light session. Otherwise a fairly laid back day not doing too much and, generally cutting myself some slack. I have been inspired by reading the Edith Wharton stories to shape some of the short story ideas that have been lurking around for a while, and began one this afternoon.

Had a lovely evening with First Matie, who'd done a spot of shopping in Brighton, and came by as we went down to The Basketmakers and then The Black Lion for a few beers and a lengthy chat as the snow began to fall, and it was all very seasonal and cheery. Kate left at a reasonable hour, having received dire warnings from station staff about severe weather. She called me safe home in Southease.

Watched TV happily as the snow worked its silent ministry in the Twitten.
