Feedback, knees, eyes & teeth

Monday and back to my desk. However a lot of stuff to be sorted out first, so didn't get down to anything that might be described as writing. Lorraine off to take Pat and Maureen to Eastbourne for medical stuff and a shopping trip.  Having cleared up my study, I took myself off to the gym at 11:30. Trundled on the cross trainer and did some of my normal mild mannered weights. Walking home thinking I need to put more time in at the gym, then at home, while eating a salad and chicken sarnie, I noticed my knee was a bit swollen and sore. I'd felt no twinges in the gym. However I can walk on it, and pushed off to see my dentist Coílín, friendly and lovely as ever. Lorraine, and Pat and Maureen use her and everyone likes her. Luckily my teeth just needed a short clean.  Home, and shortly after Steve came around to discuss Gordon Road over a cup of tea. Many of the things he said were spot on. He had been apprehensive about giving me feedback, but he did a considered and thoughtful ...

Crumbled knees

Saturday at last. Lorraine and I made several plans for everything we were going to achieve today,  while in bed. However once up, and the quorn sausage sandwich of destiny had been eaten, both of us felt devoid of energy and in need of sneaky dozes in the afternoon, after we'd done some essential house stuff. Lorraine sore throaty and tired. Then a walk off to do some shopping, and Lorraine to drift into Preloved, one of her favourite shops. Caught a bus in the evening to see Rosie and Innis for a dinner party. Lorraine made apple and walnut crumble and it warming our knees as Lorraine and I sat in the front seats at the top like children. Rosie had done a North African chicken dish which was all other delicious. Nice to see R & I so happy together, and Innis and have very similar interests and tastes so have lots to chat about. A cheery night all round, and a judicious cab home. I was still downstairs when Lorraine was already upstairs and did something yelp inducing to her...
Kneeds must Feeling flat and irritable today. Went shopping with Lorriane, bought some cushion covers. Had coffee with a tired-looking Mark and Beth. Stupid knee seizing up again, the ligaments all feel wrong and it is all slightly puffy and painful. Must take all this to the quack again once I've finished working in London next week. Was supposed to go to a party at Reuben's house tonight, but was 180˚away from a party mood and didn't feel like hobbling about. Yet another social event I have blown out lately. Instead watched watchably bleak Swedes on TV (Wallender).
Kneedy Booed no geese today, allowing knees to recover. Curiously fragile after last night's accident, and wanted to sleep this afternoon. Although this occurred to me Pooterishly that it was a limp excuse. One still somewhat lumpy but I can walk, which is just as well as I am off to the smoke tomorrow. Working on poems about my American adventures, now that I can recollect those emotions in tranquility. Meanwhile Richard and I got our first Internet order for AGD (why have I not abbreviated 'A Guernsey Double' before?). The sound of rain as I type this. There is nothing cosier than the sound of rainfall when you are indoors. I love the sound of rain against glass, and wind moving through trees. It is beautiful and lucky to be able to hear these things.
