Sweating with The Enemy After a hard day's work, and schlepping home listening to more Plato while moronically playing Zuma on my mobile phone, met up with Anton and Anna in the St James for a cheeky beer. From there we walked down to Concorde 2, where we met Rick, to see a band called The Enemy. It felt like a trip back in time. The group were from Coventry, where I saw the majority of my gigs when I was at Warwick University, and the tape they played before they arrived was of songs from that era. Despite an electric storm over the sea, it was a sauna inside. The band came on, aged 19 I think, and they are clearly "the next big thing" judging by the enthusiastic moshing about and beer shooting into the air from the kids. Great attitude and confidence. There was a palpable rush of adrenaline which was exhilarating, they were noisy, thrashy, shouty, and assailed you with a wall of sound. The only thing missing was tunes.
