Imps and guinea pigs

Image
Up early working for an hour or so on the job I am doing with Keith and Pat, it only being 8:30 I took a quick turn around Blaker's park, before settling down to work, with an impish Keith in a window on my screen. Managed to nip out for few subsequent strolls around the park during the day, even if it were just ten minutes missing the extremely heavy rain in the afternoon. Really it is easier if anything, working like this. Keith and I discuss the concepts and work through them as if we were face to face, and once Keith starts mocking them up, we see the same screen as he's doing it and I can tweak lines etc. and grow the concept together in real time, just like you would if you were physically sitting next to one another.  It all helps. A virtual meeting with Carolyn, Pat and a pleasant planner in the US this afternoon, where Keith and I presented the work. In other news I received the lovely print of a pencil drawing of Bob Marley from Ellie. I was her guinea pig, to see if ...

Scorning zero

Working again today from home, but found time to creak off to the gym in the afternoon. Up early and worked on a poem I wrote in Greece and I think it may be a cracker. Anton and Bob's birthday today. Unable to contact the Old Mad Dog, but luckily well able to celebrate Anton's birthday which had a sensitivity-provoking zero in it. I spoke also to Carl and Ellie, whose birthday it is on Thursday.   In the evening, off to the Shakespeare's Head where we met Anton, Klaudia and Oskar, and Dawn and Rosie. I am not sure if Dawn is entirely comfortable with the idea of Annie, but she was quizzed gamely anyway. Good to see Rosie back from Greece looking relaxed and happy. Anton liked his presents, and Dawn organised some brownies with candles and the pub sang Happy Birthday and he generally came away feeling less a'feared o...

Whizzing about

Whizzing about today. Lorraine having a girly shopping day with Dawn. I kicked off with a bit of writing, then to the gym where it was incredibly hot and airless. I felt for the poor guy recovering from a stroke, his wife helping him to clamber onto various machines in the humid heat. I sweated more than I have sweated in my entire life. I spoke to the people in LA fitness about it, but they said the a/c is not working. Home, a much needed shower, then off to see Janet and Ken, and drink tea and snaffle biscuits. Ken has lost some weight and is looking quite trim. Janet fine too, and still managing to press on with her artistic pursuits in fabrics, and collaborations with Huss. Then to the printers to pick up our wedding invites, then home to have a meeting with the estate agent who is selling The Old Church Hall. Weasel. This done, a quick supper before going to the Battle of Trafalgar to meet the charming young couple who are buying the place in the Twitten.  All fine there. ...
