The force is AWOL

Despite creeping into bed gone midnight last night, I woke up early today and got up. The force wasn't with me, and I had earmarked this week as the week of organising and editing poems before a sending out as many as possible.  However everything I tried to polish became more tarnished, and after several hours of this I gave it up as a bad job and feeling rather frustrated, and doubting all my work. I did some scraping of the big bedroom wall. When you are scraping a wall, the time/achievement ratio slows right down. You can get your quick wins early, buy peeling of big sheets of stuff, by this time however, I can spend ages on just a small patch of wall.  Listening to my audiobook Joseph Anton while I was doing it. Cooked, looked after Lorraine when she got home, as she is very coldy and ill. Then a much-needed early night.

A malformation in The Force

Foot somewhat better, and the weird exhaustion that comes with my flare-up on the way out. Spent a very productive day working at my desk. I managed to get lots done. Amusing discussions with Sonia about property. She showed me photos of a nice property in Bulgaria which she and her husband are doing up. She's told me about the good times under communism some time ago. Makes me laugh about what a capitalist she is now. John came around this evening, and I got a Shahi curry delivered. Nice to see him and we played some cards. There must have been a malformation in The Force, as Beth and I were badly defeated at Euchre for the first time ever by Lorraine and John. Beth and I less competitive so it's always a pleasure to beat people that care. Fun evening, although Lorraine and I pretty shattered, and sloped off to bed fairly early and soberly for a Friday night.

The Force is with her

My wife gripped by The Force this morning. At a count of three we are getting out of bed, she announced early in the morning, and we did.  Once up and breakfasted we enacted the rearrangement of my study, after she and Dawn had discussed it while I was out with Anton. Miraculously, by removing one of my desklegs the office is now how I wanted it, with two bookcases too. Lorraine effortlessly power drilled holes deftly aligning holes and brackets, and I simply had to screw them into the walls. Together we did loads of stuff on the house, much hauling of bookcases and books today and I was able to begin unpacking my hundreds of books, freeing lots of room downstairs. In the afternoon, the human dynamo that is Lorraine even shopped in Brighton in a frenzy. Beth back after teaching this morning, laden with bags of essentials such as large jars. The evening spent with Beth and Lorraine then sorting out Beth's room. Before we all collapsed on the gold sofa, enjoying bowls of chicken a...
