Bready and waiting

Up in the middle of the night thanks to Brian traipsing around the house meowing like a broken alarm clock with a catnip fish in his mouth. I read a note that Lorraine had eventually got home at 2am. Maureen stayed in hospital today. They want to capture her next episode of not feeling well to find out what is going on. Lorraine staying with Pat, and ferrying him into hospital, and making sure everyone is okay. Feel a bit useless here, but someone has to take care of the cats. Sam kindly volunteered to come down to Seaford if that would help.

Otherwise I was up at sunrise. Steve and his friendly young neighbour came around to collect a fridge from the workhouse. Let them in from the back alley, and Laurel and Hardy'd it into the van. Steve returned with the useful trolley a bit later and had a cup of tea.

Lorraine had made quite a few plans for social things, but will have to cancel. She spoke to Dawn -- as we were supposed to go to a classical concert tonight with her and Paul.  But poor Dawn slipped over on the ice and broke her wrist. So they were going to cancel on us too. Also Sue and John were supposed to be staying overnight in the week, but we have had to rearrange.

I texted Lorraine that I was 'bready' and she then called to talk me through the stages of making sourdough bread, involving doing stuff with the mother culture, and letting dough lie for half an hour and putting it in  a loaf tin in the airing cupboard and so on.

In the afternoon off for a walk as it was a beautiful day. Quite pleased to have a quiet evening. Turned on When Harry Met Sally (I'm a sucker for a romcom) for ten minutes, and then simply watched the rest of it till late.

Here from halfway up Seaford Head looking down on Seaford Beach with Newhaven harbour in the distance. And a wee ant-like person looking at their phone.
