Hot tickets

Another blazing day. Lorraine and I off this morning in the Qashqai to Hateful Heath to look at  tasteful light grey tiles for the bathroom.  Lorraine then dropped me off at Brighton station, before having to go to Bolney for the village day. The station was like a stirred up ants nest, as there were no trains to meet Klaudia for our golden ticket trip to London. After an hour or so, we had a cuppa in the station cafe and as the trains were so royally doomed discussed our options. After an hour, however, we caught a crowded train to Blackfriars, and eventually found ourselves sitting opposite a woman and her dog from Durham, both stressed about missing their connecting train. A couple of tube stops to Monument and then walked up to the Aldwych where we found the Duchess Theatre. We squeezed into a Byron burger joint and had speedy chicken burgers, gulped down a milkshake and a cloudy lemonade before we found ourselves having our bags searched to get into the theatre. We ...

Oskar's Golden Ticket

Image
Up fairly early and topping and tailing the day with chats with Mum, before setting off in the rain to collect young Oskar for his golden ticket day. Luckily the rain abated and we drove off to The Observatory Science Centre, near Herstmonceux Castle. Oskar chatty in the car, telling me about his pal Alex and the fact they had their own You Tube channel. Spent some time there doing this sort of thing, pausing for a bite to eat. Then an appalling session of being trained to juggle and spin plates, and tops on strings and so on. None of these skills Oskar nor I were able to master. Then Lorraine drove us home, via Stanmer House where we paused ...

Golden ticket day

Got up and cooked a large breakfast, Lorraine however feeling very poor and went back to bed and slept most of the morning, and laid low all day. Feeling tired too, but there was lots to be done. Rehearsal this afternoon, with Beth. Dylan and Kitty came to our house and we did a thorough read through and a bit of work on the last scene that features them all for a few hours. Good to get to grips with it, and there is a bit of a company feel developing now, which is excellent. So Golden Ticket day today with my favourite God daughter.  I jumped into a cab and headed off to Klaudia's new house, said howdy to Anna and Oskar, and left back into the cab and headed down to Wagamamas to strap on the nosebag and we chatted about a variety of subjects. An assortment of things consumed, along with ice-cream wrapped in coconut rice. Service slow, so gulping these down rapidly, we sped off to the Dome to see Into the Hoods: Remixed . A hiphop dance performance based around a weaving of Ja...
