Life again
Up early as Enzo was at home. Breakfast while the little boy crawled about and pointing at things and opening the doors of cupboards and draws.
Meanwhile, life drawing class has resumed. I hurried around the corner to find Mike, the only other bloke in the group, had taken my spot again. Peeving in a Pooterish way. Otherwise I enjoyed myself, despite being rusty. Somehow having my book accepted has reminded me that drawing's just a nice to have, not the main course.
Adele not there, but nice to see Melissa and Debbie, and some of the others, especially Kate, who I normally sit next to, who is a retired art teacher with a brilliant style.
Home, and bounced the baby boy about and at lunch time, gave Lorraine a tiny break by feeding the boy with mashed up mango and guava and another fruit I forget. He nommed it down with gusto. He pulled a really funny shocked face when Lorraine poked in a spoonful of shepherd's pie immediately after.
Then an Understory Session, having had to miss the last two. Nice to catch up with them. Linda had not been writing poetry, but instead brought a collage, which was full of energy and a few words, so it was kind of a visual poem. Charlotte talked about self producing her new collection, Orange Cats. Emma told us an appalling story of visiting an old friend to meet her new puppy, but while she was there the puppy was attacked by the next door neighbour's dog, and lost its tail. Very traumatising. I was asked about the book acceptance, as they'd not heard from me for months, and I read some from the weird pamphlet.
After this, a bit more playing with Enzo, then Lorraine took him off home, and I caught the train into Brighton and met Messrs Hoibak and Hartley in the Evening Star, where we drank some very low alcohol beer. A cheery evening, with the gentlemen on good form, despite a long discussion about death. A good pizza in Fatto a mano. While I was out I got a call from the people in Rochdale that call me saying Mum's alarm had gone off, and they'd not been able to speak to her. I called her and she was fine, having just pressed it accidentally, so I called them back.
Home on the train, with Mark as far as Lewes. Lorraine still up when I got home.
