Excellent day
Good news on the Mum front... Having explored Mum's pension payment suspension problem with Chat GPT yesterday, which suggested one of the reasons for non-payment could have been her non-completion of a form which basically tells them she's still in good health. By coincidence this form arrived today, and she mum told me. she would complete and return it the same day. Once this is processed, normal service should be resumed. This is great. I'm discovering the only thing worse than bureaucracy is foreign bureaucracy.
Also this morning, I simply sat down and wrote a new poem, which I am pleased with, which is a sort of fever dream about the hatchling of a giant seagull egg. Not been writing much lately, but this felt decent.
Then a day with Enzo, who wriggled happily when he saw me, and held his arms out to be taken. It is a culture shock to see him crawling now, it's still slow but it's such a game changer already.
We went off to Drusilla's for lunch, and looked at various animals. We went into the bird enclosure, but the birds were all taking a siesta, not liking the heat much. I took a turn in feeding Enzo him too. It's quite a no-nonsense process. Lorraine has such a brilliant relationship with him, and was playing piano with him this afternoon.
In the evening off to Anton's where he fed me with his amazing pizza, and we sat outside having a few beers. Lots to discuss as usual, he's been under the cosh as Anne hasn't been too well lately, and Anton is looking after her lots, as well as working all hours at his job. His lovely Uncle John has been very poorly lately too.
Oskar joined us playing a game of three-way dominoes. My godson has grown up into an excellent and thoughtful man. He was telling me about going to Milan, where he was going up for a series of modelling calls. Apparently certain nightclubs allow the models in free, and they get free drinks too. But he is very down to earth about it all. Really nice evening with father and son. Got home on the train in decent time too.
Below Enzo making progress across the carpet, and on the piano.
