Managing
Up early to try to manage things. I emailed the doctor's surgery for an appointment. Then off into Edgware to buy mum some new knickers in case she had to be seen. I went into a boutique in its closing sale, and also discovered that Sainsbury's sold them too. In Edgware's Sainsbury's you have to scan your receipt to be let out of the self service area, but something went wrong and the alarms went off as I went through holding a four pack of ladies undies.
Home and made mum some breakfast, then went outside for a bit as I took a call from Health in Mind who are an NHS organisation, I'd decided to try. I had an hour's call walking about the streets talking about managing anxiety and phobias -- except much of it was verbally repeating the information I'd already twice supplied online. At the end of the conversation they said there was some online stuff that might help, plus they will send me a list of low cost therapists in my area. Somewhat useful and I will investigate when I have time.
Back home, and Mum had gone to bed again at noon after getting up early. I took a call from Mum's doctor. He thought she may have a bladder infection, which having seen how bladder infections affect other people seemed quite likely to me. I also told him that Mum seems to have lost some hearing in the last week, and we have an appointment to look at that in March.
To the Lane End surgery and got a testing kit, which mum later used. I popped into a Cafe Nero for a coffee, and spoke to Lorraine. Home again, and I cooked as mum eaten just toast and jam this morning. Toby called then too, and Mum and I chatted to him.
Three hours back to Seaford, dropping mum's test off en route. I needed to regroup, see Lorraine, and get fresh clothes and so on. My plan is to spend Tuesday at home, then go back up and chase the prescription for antibiotics if Mum's test was positive on Wednesday morning. I texted the angelic Wynford next door to let him know my plans.
On the way home Anton called while I was on the train, and it was good to chat with him despite the eye-rolling of fellow commuters.
Delightful to be home with Lorraine. I felt drained and, according to my pedometer, had somehow walked ten miles. Boofed on the gold sofa with Lorraine and chatted and rewatched the amusing Schitt's Creek, which becomes wonderful in its second season. And then to bed.
