Goofy stance

Shopping first thing, then as we are going to have new carpets next week, Lorraine and I spent a few hours moving things from the rooms which are about to be carpeted into other rooms. Unearthed my dusty wedding shoes which have a very pointy middle ages look among the dead sea scrolls, and other lost treasures.

A walk to get up to ten thousand paces, although I had done lots in the house already walking things from room to room. Listening to a rest is history podcast about Romans vs Carthaginians in Spain. I know next to nothing about the Carthaginians, who were big dogs in the western Mediterranean for centuries until 146BC when things all went horribly wrong with the Romans.

Just as I reached home, Toby called. He said that, factoring in the wind chill, it was minus 35 in Toronto. He'd been out for a coffee but it was almost too cold go outside.

He's happily installed back home now living in an echoey minimalism as he awaits eclectic Frasier-style furniture (sourced from high quality furniture vendors around the world) to arrive. He's also enjoying making music using AI, feeding his own lyrics into the program and designing what the music should do.  Interesting how the human element of the Tobster's words is the best bit.

I called Mum straight after, as Toby told me had just spoken to her and said she was under the weather. She seems to have the sore throat and cough bug that's been doing the rounds. She also told me about her continued difficulty with picking up prescriptions, so I am going to try to have these delivered to her. She was going around to see Barry, and Wynford and Rupa next door which she normally does on Sundays.

Cooked a spaghetti tonight. Spaghetti is my comfort food, its satisfying to be able to use a passata that Lorraine made from Kenny farm tomatoes, and Kenny farm garlic and fresh parsley.

Women's Big Air snowboarding on TV, the commentators seem to be speaking another language, which Lorraine seems to be picking up. The captions sometimes say the competitor has a Goofy stance, which Lorraine said is leading with the right foot.
