A day of sticky industry

Off in the morning to do a spot of shopping, including sugar.

For what better activity on a swelteringly hot day, than picking plums, washing plums, boiling plums with lemon juice and a little water then later adding sugar to the brew all in a hot kitchen. Then proudly labelling jam into jars. This batch darker in colour than last year, but we tested it afterwards and it was bloody fine.
