Living the dream
A busy Sunday. With Lorraine's adult supervision, I completed and printed the Lasting Power of Attorney documents out for mum to sign, and got in touch with Wynford and Ben to ask them to sign too tomorrow when I go up. Wynford: Yes, Ben: I'll try and see what I can do, which I'm hoping means yes too. Also some admin about my tolerance for financial risk for my savings had to be sent off too. Lorraine and I are very much medium-low risk people when it comes to finance. Anyway doing this kind of admin early on made me feel happy once it was done. Delores breezed in later (a breath of fresh air as she had been walking in the Forest) to borrow the strimmer and to laugh loudly in the kitchen.
Some gardening. I poked about in the pond. I think all the fish are gone now. There was the great egret devastation, and I don't know if it popped back to eat the last two, of the unbelievable heat did them a mischief, but I couldn't see any in there, while I cut back some of the pond weed.
On a more positive note, the gulls on the roof are still there as are their hatchlings, now quite large. I thought they had met with terrible accidents, but they seem fine. The fall from the roof must have come from another roof.
Otherwise it is full of invertebrates and all kinds of life. Lorraine pulled up loads of spinach and wilted it and froze it into spinach ice cubes. There were also absolutely delicious runner beans which we had with our dinner tonight, atoning for yesterday's donner fest with smoked tofu.
Also a spell in the Studio. Loraine at the wheel, and me sketching scraps of ideas. A new idea is emerging however, that is both visual and written. I haven't had a new idea for a while, so this is quietly exciting. It is lovely to be in the studio with Lorraine, both busily doing our own things, but together. Living the dream. Watched Babylon 5 obsessively tonight before bed.
Two of the raised beds with bean poles, all the spinach having been harvested.
