Innis and Rosie are married

So today was the big wedding day. We were woken by an excitable text sent by Rosie at 6am. Luckily Beth, who had been up already, was texting her back from home.

A couple of hours later, an excellent breakfast, the breakfast room packed with wedding goers who we talked lots too. Graham pointing out that there was a signed Tracey Emin print nearby. The Bell is full of art, and fascinating posters and objects. A full English breakfast this morning with lots of coffee. I felt a tad hung over from last night, and still making efforts to hydrate as it was extremely hot again.

Much scampering about, Innis looking dapper popping into the room, next to ours, where Eve and her boyfriend Harry were staying. Eve was Innis's best person. Meanwhile in Pretty Vacant, Beth and James and Enzo arrived. All changing into Wedding gear.  I managed to fit into my suit. Lorraine went off to pick up Laura and Adrian from nearby, then we all made off to the room where the ceremony was being held.

Lightly air conditioned. Lorraine and I near the front, so Lorraine able to tell Innis discreetly that his trouser leg was tucked into his sock. Innis and his brothers and Tim all very dapper. Rosie arrived looking like a fairy princess, in tears of course, walking down the aisle. Seeing Rosie's happy face made me blub like a big girl. Lorraine sniffing too. All very emotional and lovely. The ceremony completely reflecting their personalities, with lovely personal vows. Enzo, the only baby, behaved in exemplary fashion.

A marvellous day followed. Photos of them walking along with confetti being thrown, speeches from Innis and Rosie. A wedding breakfast, all sitting at long tables talking to folks. I was sat opposite a charming and intelligent woman who'd known Rosie from before she was born.

A photo booth for attendees, Innis finding me and insisting I take a photograph with Peter Kenny. Peter Kenny had only last week got married to his partner Sam.

Then there was a silent disco. Lorraine and I joined in. When you first walk in, it's like you have wondered into a zombie movie with people groaning and singing reedily while shuffling about. We did this for a while, donning the glowing headphones, and being able to select tunes from three channels. The idea is you look at the others and if they appear to be grooving along, you flip your own channel to listen to what they're listening to. Later this moved into the gardens, and the raised area around the fire pit. So there were a few normal people, like me for example, talking to one or two others, while all around us the zombies shuffled and sang.  The evening ended with sparklers, and toasted marshmallows  and general cheeriness. A lovely day all round.

Most importantly, Rosie and Innis seemed to be having the day of their lives, which was wonderful to see.

Below Rosie and Innis making speeches; silent disco, Rosie dancing with Innis and then her dad, Innis dancing, Lorraine and I with Cyberman headphones, the party outside, and sparklers, fire and the rising full moon, and one frame, two Peter Kennys.
